California attorney general charges Gardens Casino dealer with alleged chip theft

Enforcement & compliance

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced on 22 April that a dealer at The Gardens Casino had been arrested and charged with felony grand theft. Bonta’s office alleges the dealer stole more than $15,000 in gaming chips; the state Department of Justice began investigating in March. The theft allegation is separate from recently implemented changes to California cardroom game rules.

The charge concerns alleged theft at a California cardroom and a state gambling-control investigation.
