Caesars Entertainment opened Harrah’s Oklahoma in Chandler in partnership with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, the company said. The casino has a 45,000 sq ft gaming floor, 12 table games and more than 1,000 slot machines; the development is expected to generate more than 300 jobs.
The opening establishes Caesars’ first managed casino in Oklahoma and adds a large gaming venue through its tribal partnership.

People Inc. withdrew its proposed $18bn acquisition of MGM Resorts International. People Inc. chairman Barry Diller said in a statement that the company had withdrawn its offer to buy all publicly held MGM shares.
Caesars Entertainment shareholders approved Fertitta Entertainment’s proposed acquisition at a special meeting, according to an SEC filing. The merger received 133,313,001 votes in favour and 4,276,986 against, with 5,687,952 abstentions; regulatory and other closing conditions remain. The all-cash deal values Caesars at $17.6bn including debt and offers $31 per share.
Analysts at Truist Securities, J.P. Morgan, Texas Capital Securities and Jefferies issued views on gambling markets and companies in September. J.P. Morgan’s Dan Politzer cited New York Gaming Commission data for the week to 13 September 2026, reporting online sports betting gross gaming revenue down 70% year on year and handle up 11%, with a 2.9% hold. Jesse Lynn and Ted Papapostolou resigned from the Caesars Entertainment board with immediate effect, according to a company filing. Caesars and Fertitta Entertainment received a second information request from the FTC concerning their proposed merger and have 30 days to respond; completion remains subject to the review period and other agreement conditions.
Wohl & Fruchter LLP renewed its investigation into the proposed acquisition of Caesars Entertainment by Fertitta Entertainment after a filing disclosed a $34-per-share cash bid from the Icahn Group during the go-shop period. Caesars’ board supports Fertitta’s $31-per-share offer and recommended it to shareholders, who are scheduled to vote on 22 September, according to the report.
