A study by Buenos Aires Province Deputy Ombudsman Walter Martello found that searches for online betting platforms in Argentina rose 350% during the 2026 World Cup. The analysis, based on Google Trends, recorded search spikes during national-team matches and found that searches for online casinos increased after the final on 19 July.
