Buenos Aires lottery institute awards 20-year Casino Sasso operating contract

Buenos Aires’ provincial lottery institute awarded a 20-year operating permit for Casino Anexo I at Hotel Sasso in Mar del Plata to a joint venture between UTHGRA and Yukon Technology, according to its resolution. The successful bidder will receive 61% of monthly machine operating revenue; the tender was declared void for casinos in Necochea, Mar de Ajó and Sierra de la Ventana.

The award establishes the operator and revenue share for Casino Sasso while leaving three other locations without a successful tender.

Federico Fagioli proposes Buenos Aires online gambling ban

Senator Federico Fagioli has proposed a ban on online casino gaming and sports betting in Buenos Aires Province, reportedly drawing on Brazil’s Provisional Measure 1,394. The proposal would exempt online lotteries and prize draws; a separate proposal would introduce biometric checks, advertising restrictions, self-exclusion tools and an illegal-gambling office.
