Brazil Supreme Court justice considers challenge to betting ban
Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Luiz Fux is expected to assess challenges to the provisional measure banning sports betting and online casinos, according to a report. Industry associations ANJL and IBJR argue that the measure undermines legal certainty and rights they say were acquired by authorised operators. The report says Fux may suspend the measure, but no decision is stated.
A court decision could determine whether authorised operators must continue to halt new bets and online services.
