Brazil’s SPA and Caixa agree to share Fies debtor data for betting-impact study

Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting and Caixa Econômica Federal signed a 12-month cooperation agreement to share CPF numbers of Fies debt-renegotiation beneficiaries. The data will support research into fixed-odds betting and personal indebtedness, and help enable betting blocks for those beneficiaries. The agreement was signed on 8 July 2026 and runs until July 2027.

Operators may need to implement betting blocks for identified Fies debt-renegotiation beneficiaries.

Brazil’s National Consumer Secretariat will receive weekly reports from the National Advertising Self-Regulation Council on about 700 illegal betting operations identified and taken offline. The reports will include associated advertising information to support oversight and enforcement, Senacon secretary Ricardo Morishita said.
