Brazil’s AGU asks Supreme Court to invalidate fixed-odds betting laws

Regulation

Brazil’s Attorney-General’s Office asked the Supreme Federal Court to rule that laws 13.756/18 and 14.790/23, which authorised and regulated fixed-odds betting, are unconstitutional. The filing was sent to Justice Luiz Fux after a request from the Prosecutor-General’s Office; industry associations are challenging the separate provisional measure banning the market.

A court ruling could determine the legal status of Brazil’s fixed-odds betting framework.
