Betsson executive urges AGCOM to clarify Lazio-Kaiyun sponsorship rules

Regulation

Betsson Group managing director Stefano Tino called on Italy’s communications authority, AGCOM, to clarify how gambling-advertising rules apply to S.S. Lazio’s sleeve sponsorship by kaiyunsports.news. He said the domain’s association with the Kaiyun Sports betting name could create a precedent for using non-gambling websites to promote unauthorised gambling brands; Lazio announced the deal for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 Serie A seasons.

A clarification could affect how gambling brands associated with unauthorised operators promote themselves through sports sponsorships in Italy.

The agency issued the guidance on Thursday as a formal interpretation of its impartial access requirements for designated contract markets. It said location alone should not be used to deny access to eligible participants within the United States.
