ANJ reports €1.3bn in online World Cup betting stakes in France

France’s ANJ reported more than €1.3bn in online stakes during the 2026 football World Cup, more than twice the total for the 2022 edition. The regulator said the France–Spain semi-final drew €63m in online stakes, the highest for a match since 2010, and noted that expanding betting markets warrant regulatory attention.
