Alagoas government proposes state lottery to fund poverty reduction

Regulation

Alagoas Governor Paulo Dantas submitted a bill to the state assembly on 16 June to establish a public lottery, the government said. The proposal would allow government operation or private concessions, place oversight with Arsal and direct net proceeds to the state poverty eradication fund. If passed and signed, regulations would be due within 180 days.

The proposal would create a regulated route for private companies to operate a state lottery and sets operational requirements.
