Alagoas government proposes state lottery in Brazil

Regulation

Alagoas Governor Paulo Dantas sent a bill to the state legislature on 16 June proposing a public state lottery. It assigns regulation and oversight to ARSAL; if approved and signed, the executive would have up to 180 days to issue implementing rules.

The proposal could create a state-regulated lottery market and allocate part of its proceeds to poverty-reduction funding.
