Finnish licence announcements precede 2027 market opening
Briefing · By SectorWire desk ·
Wildz Group said it was the first online gambling company to obtain a licence for Finland’s market, while Hippos ATG Oy confirmed it had secured a licence. Both can offer services from 1 July 2027, when the liberalised market launches. [1][2]
SuomiVeto also said it had obtained a licence, with Bragg and Kambi to supply its platform. Wildz Group plans to launch all 11 of its brands in Finland and may apply for more licences. [3][4]
Separately, advisers questioned a draft central gambling exclusion register’s check frequency, handling of technical failures and personal-data protections. Veikkaus awarded a €5.7m marketing production services contract, while Betsson announced a sponsorship of HJK Helsinki running from 1 July 2027 to 31 December 2032; its value was not disclosed.
