By SectorWire desk · · Updated
Three Rank Group RNK · GBp 75.80 2026-10-16 Data casino operators agreed a £5,012,261 payment instead of a fine over money-laundering and player-protection failures, citing the UKGC’s 7 October 2026 announcement. They must also contribute to investigation costs and complete an independent audit within six months of the licence review’s conclusion. The regulator recognised their cooperation and prompt corrective work.
The settlement covers Gaming Group Limited, Grosvenor Casinos Limited and Grosvenor Casinos (GC) Limited, which together operate 51 UK casinos. The regulator announced the settlement on 7 October 2026.
The anti-money laundering failures included internal guidance that had not adequately incorporated changes to the rules from 2020, inconsistent decisions about high-risk customers and missing in-depth checks. The report also describes inadequate checks on identification and income, and unclear procedures for cryptocurrency-derived funds.
Player-protection interventions were missing or delayed. The report describes one customer losing £50,000 without protective discussions, and another returning after self-exclusion whose intervention came only after losses of £25,000.
The £5,012,261 payment is in lieu of a fine. An independent external audit is required no later than six months after the licence review ends. The operators must also make a contribution towards the investigation costs. The regulator took account of previous indications of similar problems as well as full cooperation and prompt corrective action.
